Sharing Report Builder Custom Reports

Heya Guys, do any of you know of a way to share the Report Builder Custom reports? I've got a Trust account that a couple of the employees need to manage and i couldnt find a way to share these, as the usual dropdown menu is just replaced with the option to "Delete" and that's it. Any help is appreciated!

Sharing Report Builder Custom Reports

Hello there, @David Horie.

I'll walk you through on how you can share your Builder Custom reports.

First, make sure you've added the users you want to share with the reports. Then, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Reports on the left menu.
  2. Click the Custom reports tab.
  3. Hit the Edit link for the custom report you want to share.
  4. Choose All under Share with.
  5. Click Save and close.

Other users will be able to see the shared reports when they go to their Custom reports tab. Another way that you might consider is exporting the custom report to PDF or Excel. Click the drop-down arrow under the Action column and select Export to PDF or Export to Excel. Then, manually sent it to others.

You can also send a customized report on a regular basis. If you want, go to this article: Create a memorized report schedule and email information. For data reporting and other topics, I recommend reading our Report articles.

Please let me know how these details and set steps work for you. Take care and stay safe always.

Thank you Sarah, but i do not have the "edit" you are referring to under the "action" column, all i see is "delete" how do i get the edit to show up like with the other reports? Manually sending the report isnt an option as they'll need to be pulling and filtering through dozens of these reports a day.

Here is a screenshot to make it clearer what i am referring to. Again, any additional help would be very appreciated!

Sharing Report Builder Custom Reports

Thanks for getting back to us, @David Horie.

I'm here to help. Let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue. Open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser or an incognito window. This will help us determine if it has something to do with the cache or not. The webpage is preventing the program from editing reports. Let me guide you how.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

After that, go back in the report page and try checking the edit option. If it's working fine, proceed in clearing your browser's cache. This process will help optimize the QBO experience.

If you're getting the same result, use a supported browser and edit the report from there.

Here's a link that'll provide information about customizing reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can browse this link to go to our report page. It has our general report topics with articles: Reports.

With the above recommendation, you should be able to share the report.

Please let me know how it goes as I wanted to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a good one.

I tried in an incognito window(Chrome), as well as trying to edit the report in safari on a different computer, and am still not able to Edit, the only action available is "Delete", the same as in my previously posted screenshot.
