Welcome to the Community, @ep33.
Yes. We can copy a Journal Entry (JE) manually and reuse it as a recurring template. Let me guide you on how to perform it.
To start, let's ensure you save the content of the JE you want to copy as a template since automatically converting it isn't possible. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Select Recurring transactions below the Lists column.
- Pick the New icon.
- Click the Transactions Type dropdown and select Journal Entry. Then, OK.
- Enter the content of the Recurring Journal Entry based on the JE content you want to copy.
- Once done, click Save template.
For more info, you can read this article: Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.
I also suggest contacting your accountant for guidance on when you should use a recurring JE to make transactions to avoid book discrepancies.
To learn how to pair up online bank transactions to your JE, you can read this article: Match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to return here if you have additional questions about managing your JE transactions. We'll be willing to help. Keep safe, and have a good one.
