Simple One Row Per Job Estimates by Job Report Format

We would love a simple report that shows the job estimates created for a given month that provides the information in a single line so they can easily be exported to Excel and sorted.  The existing Estimate by job report is multiple rows per job.

Does anyone have a simple report format like that?  We would love to easily track and manage our sales teams effort by running a report that shows the estimates created for a given month.  Job title, Date Created, Sales Rep Name, and Amount of Estimate are all that are needed.

Thanks.

Simple One Row Per Job Estimates by Job Report Format

Thanks for reaching out to us, DEW2022. Let me get the help you need in running the report you want.

When running the Estimates by Job report, the option to edit the rows is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. You can share your thoughts and ideas about this one in QuickBooks. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and click Send Feedback.
  2. Choose a category and enter your comments or suggestions.
  3. Click Send Feedback when you're done.

What we can do in QuickBooks is to edit the columns to show only the Job title, Date Created, Sales Rep Name, and Amount of Estimate in the report. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the top.
  2. Click Jobs, Time & Mileage.
  3. Select Estimate by Job report.
  4. Tap the Customize Report tab.
  5. In the Columns field, look for Job title, Date Created, Sales Rep Name, and Amount of Estimate or nearest name on the column's lists.
  6. Press OK

If you need to export the report to Excel, just follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Excel drop-down from the top menu, then Create New Worksheet.
  2. Tap Export.
  3. Go back to the main Jobs Estimate vs. Actuals Details, and then Double-click the Total amount under Est. Cost.
  4. Click the Excel drop-down, then Create New Worksheet.
  5. Press Export

Here's an article you can refer to for more details about exporting reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop. For additional information about the available reports you can run in QuickBooks Desktop and how to use them, here's a resource you can read: Understand reports.

Simple One Row Per Job Estimates by Job Report Format

@RCV  RE: Let me get the help you need in running the report you want.

When running the Estimates by Job report, the option to edit the rows is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.

How is telling the user they can't run the report helping the user get the report they want?

And, why did Intuit take away the option to edit rows and make it unavailable?
