I can imagine the struggles of not having the correct sequencing in your sales forms, @Engineer72. I'll ensure to provide a workaround for your convenience in viewing them.
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) has the ability to continue the sequence number based on the previous number created. In your case, since these numbers (114S, 114S2 and 114R1) used are in different locations, I suggest using one of these numbers. With that being said, if you'll use 114S, it will then follow the sequencing order as 115S, 116S, and so on. To keep track of the sequencing, I recommend entering the last number used in the sales forms.
On the other hand, using wild card character isn't supported in QBDT. Thus, we'll need to set the number to use for proper sequencing in viewing your invoices or estimates.
In addition, you can refer to this article and learn how to personalize and add specific info to your sales forms: Use and customize form templates.
Please know that you can ask in the comments if you have further questions with managing your sales forms in QBDT. I'd be more than happy to assist. Have a good one.
