Statement writer is not creating a pdf report

It has been a few years since I have used Statement Writer.  The Balance Sheet and Income Statement are exporting to excel just fine, but when I try to view the pdf of the entire report, nothing happens.  The pdf file is not created (even though I have named the pdf file).  I am using QB Accountant Desktop 2023, Statement Writer version 15.0.1.0, Windows 10, Excel 2019, Adobe Acrobat version 23.006.20380.0

Any suggestions?

I have done the following already, so please only post fixes that do NOT include: updating QB, updating Statement Writer, verifying and rebuilding my quickbooks file or restarting my computer.

Thank you for your efforts in troubleshooting, Ginger.

I have a set of steps that can help address performance issues when using QuickBooks Statement Writer (QSW). However, please ensure that you haven't already attempted these instructions. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
  2. Download the latest version of QSW.
  3. Adjust the Windows settings.
  4. Verify that Excel is compatible.
  5. Change the method of accessing the .QSM file.
  6. Refresh QSW's access permissions.
  7. Run the QuickBooks Statement Writer Diagnosis.
  8. Review the .log file.
  9. Edit the QBDSK.INI file.

For detailed instructions on the above process, refer to this article: Fix problems with Statement Writer.

Statement writer is not creating a pdf report

Thank you for your reply, however, it was not helpful.  I am not having any trouble with excel, I have read the articles mentioned and it is also not helpful.  I am really  more interested in the community experience with QuickBooks Statement Writer (QSM) lately...there are not a lot of current resources on the internet.  Just wondering if QSM is going to become non-useful as Intuit pushes everyone to QBO, and does not invest any resources into updating the software.
