A prior QB-DT user incorrectly set up an income account Event Income as not a sub-account and posted transactions to it. I created an account Income: Race Income and transferred all transactions to that subaccount. However, the Income Statement still shows Event Income as an account and does not show up the account Income: Race Income. Desktop version 2021. Any suggestions welcomed.
@UMD66 The first question that comes to mind is which date range you're using for the report, and what amounts are showing on said report.
Hi there, @UMD66. Thanks for reaching out regarding the account setup challenges in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Based on your explanation, it seems that the Event Income account was initially set up incorrectly. Even though you have successfully created the Race Income sub-account and transferred the transactions, the Income Statement still displays Event Income.
To resolve this, please double-check the account used in the transaction. If it's a deposit, make sure to select Race Income. If you've created a sales receipt or invoice, ensure that the income account used is Race Income.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to assist you. Take care!
Date range is fiscal year: Oct 2023-Sep 2024. There is no amount because the account has sub-accounts below it.
Great suggestion. I corrected the deposits. I will follow them back to the invoices.
@UMD66 If any of the subaccounts of a parent account have values associated with them for a particular time period, the parent account will continue showing up.
Please provide an image of what you're seeing, for clarity.
