The aging on payables seems off does anyone kow how to correct instead of it being negative days

Thank you for reaching out regarding the negative days in the aging of payables, Maria.  Allow me to share some guidelines to fix this issue.

Negative days in aging on payables indicate data entry errors caused by two things:

  • An account payable or accounts receivable transaction has affected the balance sheet account
  • There's an unapplied payment

To correct this, you must enter the missing invoices or bills before you can apply the payments to them.

To find unapplied payments, here's how:

  1. Go to Business Overview and click Reports.
  2. Find and select either the Customer Balance Detail or Vendor Balance Detail report.
  3. Review the report to identify any unapplied payments.

After identifying unapplied payments, you can apply them in accounts payable.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Bookkeeping section and select Transactions, then Expenses.
  2. On the Expense Transactions page, click on Filter.
  3. From the Type dropdown list, select Recently paid.
  4. Click on Apply.
  5. Select the unapplied bill payment from the list to open the Bill Payment window.
  6. From the Add to Bill Payment panel, choose Add for the bills to apply the payment to.
  7. Hit on Save and close.

@maria-lojo-dpipr

Aging doesn't start until the bill is past the due date.  Prior to the due date, aging is negative.

Yikes!  Have you even used QB?  Those answers are incorrect and you're creating more work for your customer.  Does anyone at Intuit screen these responses?
