How I can activate the trial balance report be classified by location?

I'm jumping onto this thread to share some details about customizing reports in QuickBooks Online.

The Trial Balance report displays only the total amount in the debit and credit column for each account. It isn't possible to customize it the same as the other report.

Alternatively, you can export the report to excel. Then, manually customize it from there. Just follow these easy steps:

From the Trail Balance report window, enter the reporting period.
Click the Export icon, then select Export to Excel.
In the Excel spreadsheet, you can remove information you don't want to include in the report.

Also, I'll personally send feedback to our software engineer. This way, they might consider adding this feature to future product updates.

I have some information about the trial balance report by location. Currently, the option to pull up this type of report is unavailable. If you want to see the accounts by location, you'll want to open the Profit and Loss by location report instead.

To get there, here's how:

Go to Reports.
Enter Profit and Loss by Location in the search field.
Select the Customize button.
Filter the Distribution Account drop-down. See the image below.
Click Run report.

Hi, well this will not help to generate report by Location. Is there any expert around here to guide on this ?

At the moment, there's no option to run a Trial Balance report by location. The Trial Balance in QBO will show the balances of all general ledger accounts at any given point in time, regardless of the location.

Because of this, the previous answer suggested to run the Profit and Loss by Location or use the Balance Sheet. For now, those are the only financial reports that can be opened or filtered according to locations.

Being able to filter or run the Trial Balance by location can be a great addition if added in QBO. I would recommend sending feedback about this to our product engineers. They collect and evaluate customer suggestions if they can be added in the future updates.
