Transaction Detail report by class duplicating all transactions as "Not Specified"

Quickbooks Online, Non-Profit -  - - -Why when running a Transaction details report by class, made up of expenditures,, sales receipts and deposits, why does it duplicate ALL transactions under Not Specified at the bottom of the report? Also, all credits are reflected as debits and all debits are reflected in the credit columns.

Its also reflecting the same duplicated data in a Class summary report under Not Specified.  Useless data.

I do not understand Specified and Not Specified in the report filters and why I would have anything under not specified.  All transactions have active classes assigned

Transaction Detail report by class duplicating all transactions as "Not Specified"

Welcome to the Community, @user00552. I’m here to give you information about the Not Specified transactions on your Transaction Detail report by class.

The amounts or transactions under the Not Specified column are those amounts that aren’t assigned to the filter you’ve chosen in the Display columns by the drop-down menu. Since you've mentioned that all transactions have active classes assigned. We can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix unnecessary files from your browser. Let me guide you through the process.

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Log in to your QuickBooks company file in an incognito or private browser and try to see if you can select the liability account. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:

Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N

Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P

Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works, you can return to your regular browser and clear your browser's cache. Then you may see if it fixes the problem and gets started on the tasks at hand. However, if the incognito window didn't work, you can use another supported browser.

Please refer to this article for more details: Troubleshooting browser problems.

Moreover, if you've connected your bank and manually entered the transaction to QuickBooks Online. It may be a duplicate transaction, so you'll need to review your work and make sure everything is correct in the Categorized or Reviewed tab. If it's confirmed that it's a duplicate you can match the downloaded transaction with the one you already entered. This links them together so you don't get duplicates.

You can also exclude the duplicate transactions so they won’t be added to QuickBooks or downloaded again. Here's how:

  1. Go to the For review tab.
  2. Select the checkbox for each transaction you want to exclude.
  3. Select Exclude.

Once everything is all set and the duplicates are all cleared out, you can run again the Transaction Detail report by class. You can also refer to this article for more details about how to run and customize reports by class in QuickBooks Online: Run reports by class.

Please don't hesitate to reach back if you have clarification or additional information about managing reports in QuickBooks Online. Have a good one!

I'm here to help you further, user00552.

The Specified status that you see in the Transaction Details report means a transaction is assigned to a specific customer while the Not Specified status means there isn't a customer assigned to it.
