Hello there, @dwealand. I'll be glad to help you print the 1099 Transaction Detail Report for 2022, which excludes bills and expenses that are still unpaid for the end of the year.
The 1099 Transaction Detail Report will show all the transaction types you've created in QuickBooks. That said, excluding the bills and expenses when printing and running the report is unavailable.
While this option is unavailable, you can export the report to Microsoft Excel from QuickBooks Online as a workaround. From there, you can modify to remove the bills and expenses that are shown unpaid in your books.
For more details, see this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.
Also, I'd suggest sending feedback to our product engineers. It allows them to review your suggestions and possibly include them in future updates. I appreciate the answer. It was as I expected - the report shows all the bills and expenses entered in the year. I'm guessing there isn't a report that lists any bills and expenses that are dated 2022 and remain unpaid at year end - does such a bill exist?

Hi, @dwealand. I appreciate you getting back to us and adding another inquiry about running the 1099 Transaction Detail report. It's a great delight to provide you with details about this matter.
It would be wonderful to use QuickBooks Online (QBO) without encountering challenges when performing any activities. To show unpaid bills and expenses is still unavailable when running the Transaction Detail report in QBO.
You may, however, run the Transaction Detail by Account report to display your unpaid bills and expenses for the year 2022. You just need to customize it to modify its data based on your needs. I'll show you how:
I've also included the following article if you want to save your report's customization settings: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
