Two invoice custom form styles are saving over eachother.

I have two custom form styles for invoices. The newly created invoice style has everything the same as far as layout, just different messages to the customer.  Each time i save it, it saves the same message in the other invoice. I go to change the other and the same things happens. Cache cleared and all that, it's still doing it.

Two invoice custom form styles are saving over eachother.

Good morning, @Dru_Nasty

QuickBooks Online is designed to use the most recent memo across all invoices. I understand and fully agree that having the option to use the custom message you enter in a new custom style should only be available for that style. With that said, I wanted to let you know I've submitted a Feedback request to our Product Development Team.

Our developers review each request and consider them all for future updates. Any time you'd like to submit new suggestions to our developers, you can do so by using the link I've included below.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns or if there is anything else I could assist you with. Take care!

That'd be great if that feature could be implemented, thank you. Very misleading having "custom form styles" not actually be fully customizable. Also, would be nice to be able type in the custom variables ([First Name], etc.) within the message area. The checkbox to include a greeting with either Dear or To are two greetings i'd never use in a business message. A simple, Hi or Hello would be great. I'll submit that latter request for feedback.

I am extremely frustrated because the issue has not been resolved. After reaching out to technical support, I was advised to provide my input on the following problem:

Whenever I create a message on Invoice template "A", it changes the message on all other templates "B" & "C". The same applies to the email subject and body assigned to the template. I was told, "Currently, this is how QBO is being programmed. It only has 1 default for messages."

It is essential for me to have different invoice body messages and associated email messages on each template! Otherwise, what is the point of creating individual, separate templates? Currently, it is counter productive.

Yes, that is what everyone wants.  Does it seem that Intuit is incapable anymore of designing useful features?

It appears this has been an ongoing complaint for a significant amount of time, I see that the last "best answer" was posted back in February of 2023 and it wasn't even a fix! It only stated that it had been mentioned to the techs. Ok, invoicing is the most vital part of running a business, this generates our income which allows us the ability to pay our Quickbooks subscriptions! Come on guys, this needs to be rectified.

I hear your sentiments, LJFacctg. Let me ensure you can deliver your insights directly to our product engineers so they can include your suggestions in future product updates.

I recognize your feedback on enabling options of custom messages you've entered in a new custom style to show only on a specific form type. However, this ability is working as designed in the program.

With that, I'll take note of your idea to help improve our service and your overall QuickBooks experience.

In the meantime, you can personally submit your product ideas from your online account. To do that:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top, then choose Feedback.
  3. Enter the new features you would like us to add in the description box.
  4. Select Next to submit feedback.

You can also visit our QuickBooks Online Blog to be updated about our latest news, features, and updates about QuickBooks Online and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Furthermore, you can utilize this resource to help you track and enter customer-paid invoices to ensure the accuracy of your accounts: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always available in this thread for any additional queries when managing custom templates in your account. Stay safe.
