I keep receiving an error message when adding a new contact into a vendor profile. Attached is a screen shot.

I've never seen this before.  I'd try two things:

1) Re-sort the Names list (not the vendor list). To do this, open a check, click in the Payee field, and then press Ctrl-L to open the Names list (which is a list of all of the different types of names).  Then pick Re-sort list from the Name button at the bottom of the list.

It that doesn't fix it, then...

2) Rebuild (repair) the company file by picking Rebuild Data from the File | Utilities menu.

Thanks for getting back to me,

both solutions presented did not resolve the issue. Do you have any other solutions you can think of that I may try?

Let's try other troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue you're having when trying to add your vendor, @AlexNeedsAyuda.

Let's try running the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix common issues.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Select Company File Issues.
  3. Click Quick Fix my File.
  4. Choose OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks.

I'm adding this article for more troubleshooting steps: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Here's a detailed guidance about adding multiple vendors in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT): Add and edit multiple customers, vendors, and items

Let me know if you need more help adding your vendors. I'm here to assist. Have a wonderful day!
