Venmo deposits in Quickbooks Desktop 2023

I really just use QB to reconcile bank statements and credit cards to run reports for my accountant. So that's why I'm still using just the desktop version. It's not worth it for me to use online.

I have a boarding kennel and about half my clients pay for their dog boarding via Venmo. Then I transfer the Venmo payment to my business checking account. In my bank account, do I just use the clients name as the payer of my income and not Venmo as the deposit source? I'd like to set it up correctly, but I'm a bit confused.

Thank in Advance,

Meg

Venmo deposits in Quickbooks Desktop 2023

It's great to have you here in the QuickBooks Community, @bifrostfarm. I have the information to successfully record your Venmo transactions in QBO.

When recording the transfer, if you ever want to track your income and who has already paid, we can use your client's name to record. However, if you don't need to record and keep track of who has paid, we can use Venmo directly to record the transferred payment.

Additionally, I recommend contacting your accountant for further guidance on recording these transferred payments from your Venmo account.

For more information, you can visit this article on adding your bank transactions: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

To create custom fields, you can check this article: Create and use custom fields in QuickBooks Desktop.
