We are having issues with time being entered after an invoice has been created. Is there a report that will show unbilled time and invoicing information?

How does quickbooks determine if a time activity has been invoiced?

Thanks for posting here in the Community, @Kharp. I'm here to assist you with running the report you needed In QuickBooks.

You can run the Unbilled Time report in QuickBooks Online. Though, it only shows unbilled time transactions without invoice information.

However, you run any Sales reports that will show the invoice information and export them into an Excel file. This way, you can manually add and combine all the transactions.

To run the Unbilled time report, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Unbilled Time in the search box.
  3. Set the date range under Time Activity Date.
  4. Click Run report.

Then, pull up any sales report by following the steps above and going to the Sales and customers column. Once done, export these reports using the export icon found beside the report gear icon. From the worksheet, combine the information using the transaction numbers manually.

To determine if a time activity has been invoice, you can go to the project menu. From there, you can view the project expenses and timesheets billable. For more information, see these articles:

Here are some of the links you can check. These will show you the detailed steps on how to customize reports and how to manage reports in QuickBooks:

I am really confused on something.  I am trying to create a report to show me billable transactions(time charged, and  yes I know there is a unbilled report), but what is confusing me is the billable column.  On the report is shows NO and but when I look at the time charge transaction the billable box is marked with a green check mark.  I can not figure out what to use to identify if it has not been billed.

Thanks for getting back to us, @Kharp. Confusion no more, I'm here to clarify your concerns about the billable column in QuickBooks Online.

Let's get this sorted out. This way, you can identify if it is already billed or not.

The No on the report means the bill is not affecting the customer's account yet. It's billable but isn't applied to any customer transactions.

For now, the only way to determine if a transaction wasn't tagged as billable is if the Billable column (Transaction List with Split report) is blank. That being said, if the transaction does not have a Yes under this column, you can click on the amount to open it. Then, edit the transaction accordingly.

In case you'll need to run reports in QuickBooks Online, you can click here. This includes instructions on how to modify and memorize them.

Please know that I'm only a few clicks away if you have any other concerns about reports. It'll be my pleasure to assist you. Have a wonderful day.
