Buy nowHi,
I am trying to pull what should be a common/simple data set each month, and QB Online just doesn't seem to have any way to do it.
All I am trying to get, is a report that gives me the Invoice date AND the payment date, along with the Service/Product Detail and basic customer info. The 'Sales by Product Detail' report is the closest, but QB in it's infinite wisdom doesn't seem to allow you to simply get both the invoice and payment dates. And, i cannot locate any type of build your own report from scratch option anywhere.
Any suggestions? This should be so easy.
I have the closest report that will show you the specific information you need, @rjerome. I'd be delighted to outline the complete steps to achieve your task with you.
You can customize the Invoices and Received Payments and Sales by Customer Detail report one at a time. Then export it to excel to combine the Invoice Date, Payments Date, Service/Product, and other customer info.
Proceed with the following steps:
5. In the Sales by Customer Detail, select:
6. Hit Run report.
7. Click the export icon and pick Export to Excel.
8. Manually edit the data.

Wait a minute... I had an "answer" regarding a different report a couple weeks ago, with a similar recommendation to "export to Excel, then manually edit the data". I don't think that's any sort of solution at all. Anyone can manually cobble together an Excel report, but it seems that the whole point of having reports available in a software package is to NOT have to do that! I don't think there's as much credibility in a manually-edited/created spreadsheet as in a stock, fixed report - at least not if you're planning on sharing it with management or with customers.
