What templates are people using for purchase order to be sent to vendors? The quickbooks PO does not allow for customization for signatures, etc.

I can see the benefit of customizing purchase orders in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @grlib. That's why I'm here to share further details about this.

 

Currently, there isn't an option to customize purchase orders (PO) in QBO. You can only customize transaction forms such as invoices, sales receipts, and estimates. With this, you'll have to utilize the default PO template when sending one to your vendors. However, you may integrate a third-party app that'll help you in adding signatures and other necessary details to your PO. Just go to the Apps menu or visit the QuickBooks App Center page.

 

To check for supported apps through the Apps menu inside QBO, here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Apps menu.
  3. Type in the name of the app in the Search by name or category field or select the Browse category button.
  4. Select the app you want and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the integration process.

 

Additionally, you can pull up reports (i.e., Open Purchase Order ListOpen Purchase Order DetailPurchases by Product/Service Detail, Purchases by Vendor Detail) to effectively monitor your PO transactions in QBO. Just go to the Expenses and vendors section from the Reports menu's Standard tab.

What kind of business do you run? You need an additional app to create an invoice and put the e-signature.

We have been using Quickbooks for decades. This online (advanced) version of your program is a huge step backward. Removing the ability to customize things like purchase orders makes our company look unprofessional. We will have to change the format of all the items on our lists to fit the fixed format of the POs. The lists are now harder to navigate and view. The interface requires more input to perform simple tasks. Even something as simple as the button to "save and close" did not work properly. This program is not ready for release and it seems as though the customers will have to suffer through the beta testing. Very disappointed.

This is an old thread but I would echo the sentiments of the other users here. The inability to customize the Purchase Order form is a disaster. Seriously in this day and age this should not be the case with an online platform that cannot perform these basic functions. 

 

Fix the ability to modify the template that goes out in an email and add the ability to drop in a signature.
