Buy nowI'd like to use Quickbooks Online (QO) for a business I'm starting and haven't been able to find an answer to one particular question. I'd be using it in conjunction with a Shopify store, so Shopify would automatically send the orders to QO. From what I've been able to tell so far, QO wants to assign a specific price to a specific product. In my case, though, let's say I'm selling boxes, but every box is custom. The price is determined solely by the x, y, and z dimensions. So, Shopify will collect a part number (which will be the same for all boxes), the dimensions, and the calculated price, and send all that to QO. Will this cause a problem for QO, since the same part number will always (well, usually), come with a different price associated with it? If this can be accommodated, how?

Hi there, Involute13. I appreciate you for choosing QuickBooks Online to manage your sales and expense transactions.
QuickBooks Connector can only assign the COGS account for the products upon creation but won't sync the COGS price of products.
When you integrate Shopify into QuickBooks Online, sales are only imported as summarized sales receipts, refund receipts, and fees. After you connect, it won’t affect your products and inventory in both QuickBooks and the program.
Since this is a third-party application, I recommend visiting the Shopify Community for more info about this.
I'm only a few clicks away if you need assistance managing your items in QuickBooks. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.

Thanks so much for the prompt and detailed reply.

So, I’ll have to manually enter the price for each sale?
Let me clarify things for you today, Involute13.
Yes. You can manually enter the price for each sale to ensure accurate tracking of your costs and profits. The good news is that you may always look for a third-party application to ease the process.
