You have failed.
When did this change because I printed one about 6 months ago and it was an option???
It seems you're trying to access the Vendor Contact List report in modern view but have difficulty adding the vendor's tax ID, @gfacenterville. As you've mentioned, it's an element you used successfully six months ago, and I understand it can be surprising that it isn't available now. I want to guide you through the steps to add this column and provide information about this change.
To begin, the Tax ID column for your vendor's tax ID information is still available when you switch to the classic view of the report. You can follow these steps:
Moreover, a similar customization is available in the modern view but with a few added steps in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced. Here's how:
We're taking a careful approach to transitioning to the new modern experience with the reports in QBO. As of posting, you can still switch to the report's classic view experience to add your vendor's tax ID information. However, please know that we're slowly transitioning to the modern one, and your input is essential during this process. I encourage giving your comments and suggestions by clicking on Give feedback option on the top right portion of the report.
To keep updated on the available reports in the New Enhanced (or modern) experience and classic view, refer to this article: List of QuickBooks Online reports available in Modern view.
It's important to have all of your data exactly how you need it, especially when it comes to reports like your Vendor Listing. While it appears that some features might have been updated or changed, I hope the alternatives I've provided get the vendor tax information included in the report. If there are details you'd like to add or clarify, feel free to click on the Reply button. We're committed to offering ongoing support.

So we can still get needed information using the old and more useful version of the report that soon will be gone.
Well isn't that comforting.
Why is it your developers keep making accountant decisions when they should just leave things well enough alone. There is no good reason to remove functionality from this product. I realize you have a poor and undefined product development process, so it is best to just sit and cash our subscription checks 'til an alternative to QBO is found.
RE: I realize you have a poor and undefined product development process...
An understatement if there ever was one!
