why can't i activate/pay by direct deposit payments to contractors anymore even though it had previously been working?

Let's check why you're unable to pay contractors using direct deposit payments, fcacinc.

You'll want to make sure your company’s payroll is set up for direct deposit payments. Then, check if the contractor's direct deposit option is turned on.

Here's how:

1. Go to Payroll, then Contractors.
2. Next to the contractor’s name, select the drop-down to toggle the direct deposit on.

Once done, check again if the contractor's bank account info is still on their profile. Here are the steps if ever you need to update.

1. Go to Payroll, then Contractors.
2. Find the existing contractor to add or edit bank info.
3. Select Bank account.
4. As prompted, enter the following:
   • Account Number
   • Account Type
   • Routing Number
   • Account holder Phone Number
   • Account holder Full Name
5. Click Save.

Then, you can start paying contractors using direct deposit. I'm adding this article as your guide: Learn how to pay your contractors using direct deposit in QuickBooks. Go to Step 3: Create contractor direct deposit payments and select QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Absolutely I'm set up for DD. Been doing it monthly for years without issue. I do notice that it looks like quickbooks online has updated its interface with a button that says "pay contractors"this finally accommodating batch entry of payments to multiple contractors on the same pay day. Unfortunately this POS update now gives me errors as noted above. Same web browsers as before, incognito mode tried. Waste of my time. I hate this overpriced, glitchy product

I just had a similar issue. When I was in the pay contractor window, expense accounts wouldn't populate, nor would bank accounts, so I couldn't continue with the direct deposit. Switched from Chrome to Safari and it worked. Glitchy and unreliable.
