Why cant I assign a vehicle to a vehicle transaction?

When I try to assign a vehicle to a transaction and save, it says transaction save error!  Please try again later

Based on the screenshot you shared, it's possible that a browser issue is causing the error when saving the transaction. 

 

You'll want to access your QB account in a private or incognito window. You can also use other browsers if you have a different option on your computer. Use these keyboard shortcuts on how to start an incognito browsing session:

 

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari
  • Ctrl Shift P for Microsoft Edge

 
Once done, check if you can assign a vehicle and save the transaction without the error. If you're able to do it, follow the steps in this article to delete your browsing history: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks.

I have tried that already.  I tried if from my phone (not the app).  Its not working anywhere.

I can resolve your concern appropriately in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). Since you're using your mobile phone to assign the vehicle transaction to its appropriate category. Then, we can perform mobile troubleshooting. 

 

This way, we can eliminate common errors while using the application. Thus, we can uninstall and reinstall the application to enable you to assign the transactions to the correct category. Here's how:

 

To uninstall:

 

  1. Hold or long-press the QuickBooks Self-Employed icon. 
  2. Click on the (x) and select yes to uninstall.

 

To install:

 

  1. Go to the Play or App store.
  2. Search for the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  3. Click on Install.

 

Once sorted out, you can perform the steps to assign or categorize transactions in QBSE. Doing so will put the transactions in the correct line of your Schedule C. Also, it organizes the income and expenses of your business.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled it.  No change.  I have tried it on the web and I cant assign a vehicle to a transaction on any platform
