Why don't subclass transactions import as journal entries and strip these out even though they are defined in QBO and in the export to QBO.

We are importing Daily Sales information into the Journal entries and while we have our subclasses set on both sides, the QBO system imports with NO classes and complains that it can't find the subclasses. A head scratcher. 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:PKU 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:STD 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:O3P 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:STD 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:PKU 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:STD 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:O3P 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:IAP 01/19/2022 19:59:32 Could not find id for Class: A:IAD A is an example - but A is a class and the others are subclasses. I even created PKU and STD as classes just in case.

Hello, qb-thh-ikes-rpow.

Please ensure you've set up the correct mapping to prevent issues when importing your Daily Sales transactions.

Let's do some troubleshooting steps if everything is set up properly. Since there are times too much internet data stored on your browser can cause this unexpected behavior.

You can start by accessing your using an incognito window. This mode doesn't save any site data. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Then, you can try importing your journal entries again. If this works, you can back to your normal browser and clear the cache to remove unwanted site data. Alternatively, you can use a different supported browser.

For future reference, I've included this article for more insight on tracking transactions by class in QuickBooks Online: Track your transactions by class.

You can always add any details below if you need further assistance with importing data. We're always here to assist you.

Support said that the issue is that classes can't be imported, etc.  So might be a non-starter.

Support says that the folks at Intuit QBO don't accept import of classes in any way - so I think this is a non-starter.  Let me know if someone knows otherwise.
