I am here to provide further details about payment processing fees in QuickBooks, Jim.

In QuickBooks, all of your bank and credit card transactions automatically sync to help you easily keep track of your income and expenses. If you sign up for Merchant Services or QuickBooks Payments and accept payments, you will pay processing fees each time a customer pays an invoice. These charges vary depending on how you made the payment. Here's the new fee information: Standard Payment Fees & Rates.

However, you can create a service item and manually add fees to your customers. Also, it's a good idea to inform customers about surcharges and service fees when you send them their invoice. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Products and Services.
  2. Click on New, then pick Service.
  3. Enter the name of your service item. (For example; Processing Fee).
  4. Choose the account you'd use to track the processing fees.
  5. Click Save and Close.

Additionally, you can check out this article to learn how to accept electronic payments for invoices and in-person sales with QuickBooks Payments: Take and process payments in QuickBooks Online with QuickBooks Payments.

If there's anything else you want to know about processing fees, please let me know. I'm just here to provide the information you need. Stay safe.
