WIP dates

When pulling a Work in Progress report at the end of the month, I've always left the "From" date empty. Is that correct? Or should I be putting a date there too? See attached.

Let me share some insights about running WIP reports for a specified period in QuickBooks Enterprise. . 

 

In generating financial data, we can enter a date on the From option to filter your reports to allow the system to pull up the necessary information. Also, this authorizes the system to know where the specific period you want to keep an eye on and start tracking. However, this depends on your preferences. There will be advantages to using this option in tracking your Work in Progress report, but it's still conditional to your selection.
