Thanks for alerting us of your concern, DC Properties. Filing 940 and 941 forms to your state agency is crucial for business owners like you. I'm here to share insights and help resolve payroll rejected filings.
If you encounter an invalid 10-digit PIN when e-filing forms, it may be possible that incorrect numbers are entered when filing them. I suggest re-entering the PIN again manually. To do this:
- Go to Employees, select Payroll Tax Forms and W-2s, then click Process Payroll Forms.
- Choose the federal form you need to file from the list and select Create Form.
- Then, select the form filing period and click OK.
- Review each part of the form. You can select Check for errors, then make necessary corrections.
- Tap Submit Form and choose E-file.
- Clear the Remember My Information for Next Time checkbox.
- Enter your 10-digit IRS e-file pin. Make sure it's typed in correctly.
- Select Remember My Information for Next Time to save the new info.
However, if the same thing happens, I recommend contacting the IRS for a PIN reset, as it is missing or invalid. Kindly follow the steps below to initiate the process:
- Contact 866.255.0654.
- Choose option 1, then 3 for E-file questions.
- Ask your 10-digit PIN when you speak with an IRS representative.
