1099 INT

I'd surely send this suggestion to be added to our future updates, JanetB520.

At this time, QuickBooks Desktop only supports the preparing and filing of the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC form. However, you can use these reports in manually filling out your Form 1099-INT. Also,  you can check this link to get the latest news and updates about our system: The QuickBooks Blog.

I'll personally email this feedback. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to post them here. Take care and stay safe!

Where in Quickbooks do you find how to file 1099 Int under manual?  I have already processed 1099-NEC & 1099-Misc and need to file about 10 1099 Interest?  Where can I find a manual way to print and process these 1099 Interest?

Thank you

Connie

Where is the manual setting to create 1099- Int?  I have processed my 1099-NEC and 1099-Misc but now need to process about 10  1099-Interest.  In the past I just used the 1099-Misc and cleared out all but the 1099-Interest clients but now this doesn't work.  Please help.  Please give instruction on where and who to do manual 1099-Int in Quickbooks?

Thanks

I have the same question. I believe they are saying we need to order the kit from the IRS and do it manually. Problem is we wont have it in time for the deadline.

Yes, support of both 1099 INT and 1099 OID is needed in QBO.

Will the ability to process 1099-Int be added before 2021 year end?

Joining the thread to help share insights about 1099 form, @kevkbut.

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to process 1099 INT forms in QuickBooks. And we're also unable to provide a turnaround time as to when this tax form will be added.

This time, we're only able to help you prepare your 1099 MISC form. While the said form is not available, I'd recommend sharing your request directly with our product developers team. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under PROFILE, select Feedback.
  3. Enter a few words describing how you wanted to process your 1099 forms.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Click Skip and send message.

I'm adding this article so you're able to track the status of your request and also the latest updates released by our developers: Customer Feedback in QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you got questions other than preparing your tax forms. Use the Reply option below to leave a comment for me to assist you. Take care and stay safe!

1099 INT, 1099 DIV, 1099 for rent, 1099 for legal fees... you name it, we need it!

The 1099-MISC & 1099-INT line up perfectly if you only have to report interest.  Just map the interest to Royalties and they print perfect.  For the 1096 put a piece of tape over the 1099-MISC box and then remove the tape after printing. Just put an X in the 1099-INT box and you are set.

Anyone else confused and curious why a financial tax software company doesn't/can't provide the options to print all LEGALLY REQUIRED FORMS THAT MUST GO TO IRS at years end. IRS does not want them handwritten.

What is the hold up Quickbooks? Company has no issues raising prices and charging for support but can't provide something like this? Very frustrating to say the least. Bookkeepers have been complaining about this for eons.

Yep, thanks for the work around. i will try it. I saw that in the thread. I'm just asking for Quickbooks to do their job. if its tax software, then finish it and have it do what it required of us by the IRS. Quickbooks isn't cheap, its kind crap they haven't fixed something like this long time ago. But again, thank you for your clever work around.

Although QB does not allow for the printing of Form 1099-INT, there is a hack for this.  If you go through the motions of preparing/filing the Form 1099-MISC, you can route your interest to be reported as "Royalties" (box 2 of 1099-MISC) and then feed your Form 1099-INT pre-printed paper into your printer, and select to print the 1099-MISC.  The 1099-INT detail prints in all the correct boxes.

Why wouldn't QB have 1099-INT?  Most businesses would be in need of this form.  VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Agreed. This is a standard tax form, and places huge inconvenience to have to use another third party provider to e-file. WTF
