Archived forms

I know I had MANY more forms archived like my w-2’s, 940’s etc. and customer service is telling me they don’t exist.  However, one “manager” was able to retrieve some and put them back into the archive.  She told me she would call me back instead of keeping me on hold while she looked for the other ones.  That call back never happened.  After three days of 4-5 hour long conversations each day, I am still without archived documents for multiple years.  Of course, I have received at least 10 different explanations.  Has anyone experienced this?  I guess I am going to have to resort to submitting a request to the IRS and PAY for copies.  Copies of things I know were there previously.  I don’t know how true this is, but I was told that if you do not archive a filing or form it will delete after 60 days. I was also told if you have quickbooks online you can’t access documents at all a few years later.  (What’s the point of archiving then?) I was also told that e filing and archiving was discontinued in 2017.  Interesting one.  I was then told if I discontinued my payroll plan that I would lose documents.  However, that was not the case.  They also told me that the forms will be autogenerated but if I manually file instead of e file that a copy is not saved. No one in customer service seemed to have a clue!  I am trying to get copies of 940’s, 941’s from 2021 and 2022 as my paper copies and computer were ruined by water when my business took on damage from a tornado that stemmed from a hurricane.  Any advice on how else I can access these documents in quickbooks?

I'll share information about the archive forms.

Right now, the system can only keep files for a year. Later than that, it will not be possible to backtrack the forms. I suggest reaching out to the IRS and asking for copies of the forms. Here is the official website of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). You can check out this article for more details: IRS website

Furthermore, I want to ensure you complete all your year-end tasks, such as completing your taxes and other documentation on time. I've provided this resource to assist you with the things required to accomplish them: A year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.

If you have any additional inquiries aside from the 941 form, I am happy to assist you. Simply click on the Reply button and leave your comment below, and I will be more than willing to provide further help.
