Efiling Federal Form 941

I e-filed my Federal Form 941 on 1/10/24 but it still says "submitted" and does not yet say "agency accepted" as of 1/16/24. Usually it is accepted within a day. What should I do?

Efiling Federal Form 941

I appreciate bringing your issue with us here in the Community, shelipotmesil.

I'll share some insights about the e-filing processes in QuickBooks Desktop.

When you e-file the form, it won't be automatically accepted by the state. Instead, it will be submitted through Intuit. Afterward, Intuit will send the e-filed form to your tax agency. Once the agency successfully processes the form and the transaction is finalized, you will receive a notification indicating "Agency accepted."

Please note that there isn't a specific timeframe within the software for the agency to accept e-filed forms. The acceptance timeline depends on how the agency processes forms and whether there are any issues with the submitted form.

Our check the status of your payroll tax payments or filings tool allows you to track the status of the payroll tax forms you submitted electronically through QuickBooks to the IRS or state agencies.

Moreover, these resources can serve as a valuable reference for guidance on printing W2s, wrapping up this year's payroll, and preparing for the next year with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll:
