Filing 990 EZ

Hello,

As I understand it, the 990 EZ must now be filed electronically. I assume there's no way around this? Are we required to use the list provided by the IRS? This all seem very invasive for small non-profits.

TIA,

Chris

Filing 990 EZ

I understand your perspective, Chris. But I can assure you that the new e-File process is intended to prioritize the security and accuracy of tax filings for small non-profit organizations. I'll elaborate more about this below.

Yes, you're correct that the Form 990-EZ must now be filed electronically, and there is no way around this requirement. Starting from tax years ending on July 31, 2021, and later, all exempt organizations are required by the IRS to electronically file their Form 990-EZ returns through an IRS Authorized e-File Provider.

For additional information on the Form 990-EZ electronic filing requirement, check out this PDF file: Instructions for Form 990-EZ.
