Figures that you file for your taxes are dependent on the individual transactions you made for your business, info2126. Let me give you insight on this.
Since the accumulated sales tax figures are dependent to the transactions you've recorded in QuickBooks Online, you'll have to review them one at a time.
- Open an invoice or sales receipt.
- Go to the Select tax rate and double-check the applied tax rate.

- Click See the math to see the breakdown of the amounts.
- Select Override this amount so the option to do the changes will appear.
- Click Edit next to Enter sales tax manually.
From there, you can enter the necessary calculations and changes.
- Choose Apply override and Close.
- Click Save, and choose Yes to confirm the changes on the invoice/ sales receipt.
These changes will reflect on the Sales Tax Center where you can record the tax payments. You can also do the bulk adjustment as you record the payment. Remember that these are for recording purposes only since QuickBooks Online doesn't support yet the e-filing. Though we can easily created adjustments in QuickBooks Online, I'd still recommend reaching out to your accountant regarding the Box 6. These changes will affect your business and your filing to the correct agencies.
After recording the tax payments and filing your forms, you can already reconcile your accounts and close your books if necessary.
