How to change the state assigned for Payroll tax

An employee listed their current state address as Oklahoma on their W4, however all work is completed in Washington State. How do I update this profile so that his payroll taxes are calculated for Washington State?

Thank you for posting your concern here in the QuickBooks Community, @WWP-BK. I'm happy to help you change the work location of your employee.

 

I know how crucial the tax is for you and your employees. The changes we'll make won't take much of your time. Follow these steps to modify:

 

  1. Go to Payroll and then click Employees.
  2. Find the employee you want to modify and click.
  3. On Employment Details, select Edit.
  4. Select the dropdown arrow and click +Add work Location to add.
  5. Hit Save after modification.
