Import data from Quickbooks Online into Turbotax online

Is there a way, and if so, how do you import data from Quickbooks Online into Turbotax online for tax purposes? I figure I'm not going to like the response I receive in asking, seeing how many people have complained about a similar request. I have a small business I started last year and entered all of my info into Quickbooks Online. I'm starting the filing process for my 2023 taxes with Turbotax online. I'm not seeing a way to import the data from QBO into TT online. Surely a corporation that shares both software titles has incorporated a simple way of bringing this information into one place? With the ridiculous cost of both programs, you should be able to simply import the data. If not, will I have to do it manually and transfer all of the information? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Import data from Quickbooks Online into Turbotax online

While QuickBooks Online (QBO) and TurboTax Online are both Intuit products, as of the latest updates, there's no feature to import data from QBO to TurboTax Online.

In the meantime, you can consider downloading a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to export your data from QBO to QBDT, and then QBDT to Turbotax. Please refer to this guide for the exporting process: Export data file from QuickBooks Online to Desktop

Alternatively, you can also look for a third-party application that could help export your data to TurboTax. Here's how:

  1. In your QBO account, go to Apps.
  2. Select Find apps.
  3. In the search field, type keywords to help find a suitable app.

If you have any questions about how to send your tax information, please contact our TurboTax Support team.

Furthermore, you can run reports for both software programs to ensure accuracy.

We're always here in the Community if you have further questions sending tax information from QBO to TurboTax. We'll do our best to assist. Take care.

@FedUpWithInntuit

You need to install the trial version of QB Desktop to convert your data from QB Online as a first step. Alternatively, purchase a third-party service to convert your data for the last 2 years only and open the converted file on QB Desktop to export it to TurboTax.

Yeah, sorry. That information was very vague and the unbelievable bs I have had to go through is ridiculous. After downloading QB desktop, it was a nightmare to get the info off of QBO into it, took hours! It didn't transfer correctly and the numbers don't match! And you failed to mention that you need Turbotax desktop to import the info from QBDT. This will be the last time I ever use an Intuit product, ever! I will be letting family and friends and everyone I know to steer clear of your products as well. Way overpriced and horrible support! What a joke!

Yeah, the information supplied is vague and very incomplete. First off, it took hours to download and get the info from QBO into QBDT. Second, the numbers don't match from QBO and QBDT. You also failed to mention that the import from QBDT can only be done into Turbotax desktop. So, at this point I have wasted countless hours and am no closer to finishing my taxes. I'd be embarressed to be part of such a greedy, unorganized corporation who products can't and won't communicate seemlessly between one another. What an absolute joke. I will never use another Intuit product ever again. Furthermore, I will advise all family, friends, and anyone willing to listen to NOT use your overpriced products with the worst customer support ever! Thanks for nothing and wasting my valuable time!!

This has got to be the most rookie move of a software company that deals with business accounting software AND the tax software to file the taxes for the business. Problem is, noone thought they should communicate with each other. I've spent all frickin day to find out how to do it and at 6:00 at night still havent gotten the import from Quickbooks to Turbotax to work. Just stupidity! Fire them all, Intuit has nothing going for it at all. What other accounting software is out there that you use and appreciate?

Can't anyone at Intuit write a small program that will do this properly? Or do we all have to go through all these steps and waste time to do what the the software should do? This is totally unacceptable. A waste of good money and time. Totally Unacceptable from a software design company!!! Importing from accounting software to tax software is a dead head gimme!! Step one, lets make it easy to transfer the data so it is eazy peasy to get

taxes done.......Nope not that Intuit crew.

What other tax software is available (not Intuit) that is compatible with Quitbooks online?

Judging from other posts, this has been a problem for years, and Intuit hasn't come out with a solution yet, except to post the same directions to tell you of all the widgets you need to download, all the processes you have to go through, all the time you are going to waste, and still not have a complete transfer with valid data into their Turbotax software. Very disappointing from a highly renowned software company!! Oh well, I've got another month and a half to screw with this thing, looks like its manually enter everything one line at a time. F'n experienced software designers. Yeah a little bit disgruntled with this. Don't go with Online Quickbooks, slow, buggy, very confusing.....
