IRS-941 Rejected due to LiabilityDay not valid

I've never had a tax form rejected before.

I've submitted it twice now and I get the same issue:

The value of the Liability Day is not valid for the month

The only date I enter is today's date for my completion of the form.

Like I said, I have gone through the "resolution" suggestions and before I try AGAIN I wanted to see if there is an issue on your end.

Thank you!

IRS-941 Rejected due to LiabilityDay not valid

I am having the same issue. I have been on chat for 1-1/2 hours, updated everything and still no resolution. I have to wonder does this have to do with the leap year and I made a 941 payment on 2/29/2024...my guess is that it cannot recognize that date? Maybe?? No idea!

@PlumbID- I was thinking the same thing!  Our last check date in February was the 29th which means the Schedule B lists that date.  So, this is definitely a QB/Intuit issue to address!  I will wait a couple days for them to figure it out and resubmit it.

I have the same problem. Have tried twice to submit and both times it was rejected.  Maybe due to leap year 2/29/2024 seemingly being an invalid date? That really was our pay date.  Not sure how to fix this and proceed.

I'm having the same problem. I have submitted it 3 times.  I would guess  you are right about the leap year causing a problem. It is obviously something on Intuit/Quickbooks end of things because I did not "overwrite" anything.

The chat person said this is a known issue and the engineers are working on a solution. Hopefully they will sent out an email to let us know when there is a fix/update and hopefully it's before these 941s are due!!!

IRS-941 Rejected due to LiabilityDay not valid

Hi All-

I too tried several times and after reading below regarding leap day, I moved the February 29 liability amount to February 28 (month 2) on the schedule B and it was accepted.

@CamelleT  RE: I've checked our system and found an ongoing investigation about rejected 941 forms due to liability day not being valid. Our Product Engineers are gathering information from each reported case to develop a resolution.

Yea, it's probably really hard to remember it's leap year. So complicated, I'm sure. Lots of information is needed to work up a solution, I'm sure. Lots of cases to gather and compile to develop a resolution.

I mean, who really can predict when leap year will happen? Oh yea, except for literally everybody on earth with a calendar or who can do fourth grade math.

Please pass this on to Intuit's engineers: "If the year is divisible by four, then it's a leap year. And when it's a leap year, there are 29 days in February."

There, that isn't so hard, it is?

------------------

The other really cool thing that software engineers do is ask the operating system if the date is valid.  It turns out operating systems almost always get that right.

FYI everyone - there was an update this morning I had to download before getting into QB.  I went into the form and was going to override the 29th to the 28th like @JAK850 suggested and noticed it was already 'done' for me.  So, the update should fix the issue.
