Buy nowIn its finite wisdom, QBO has changed the way sales taxes are handled. Specifically occupancy taxes are completely messed up. Also we can't even find our county occupancy tax as an option. Before this change we could have our sales taxes calculated with confidence. Now we have to try to use our balance sheet to come of with some semblance of what our liability is.
This is COMPLETELY messed up!

While I appreciate your attempted response, I can assure you that your canned response is not very helpful. Buncombe County North Carolina charges occupancy tax. Before you changed the sales tax, I was able to (accurately calculate this along with the county tax and the state tax. Additionally my client operates in Washington Co VA, which also charges sales and occupancy tax..
My client operates various businesses, including short term rentals in Buncombe County North Carolina and Washington County Virginia. I can assure you that we are required to pay occupancy taxes in both locations.
Perhaps Intuit could talk to the local authorities and ask that QBO clients be exempt from occupancy taxes. That would be real cool!
