Out of state tax

I accidentally entered an employee address wrong, as in another state.  How do I remove the additional state?  I do not need to pay taxed there but Quickbooks insists I do.

Out of state tax

Hello, @TB9807.

I'd be glad to help you remove another state in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll.

All you have to do is to inactivate it by going to the Payroll Settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Business Information, select Work Locations.
  3. Select the work locations you want to deactivate.
  4. Check the box for Mark a work location inactive if you no longer have employees at this site
  5. Click Save.

If you don't see this option, I suggest reaching out to our customer support team to help you inactivate an unused work location.
