Display name not just company under sales?

I work with individuals not company's under sales.
If I put their name under co. it prints both on checks.
Under details names aren't showing either.

Display name not just company under sales?

Thank you for visiting the Community today, fandsinvestment.

I'm here to ensure I can provide the best solution to your concern. Before running any troubleshooting steps, I have to ask for more details on what you're experiencing.

May I know which area in QuickBooks Online (QBO) you enter the details name? Can you send us a screenshot of this one for a better view?

Regarding printing the checks, what information do you wish to show in the entry (Display or Company name)? I appreciate any information you can provide.

I'll be on the lookout for your reply. Thanks in advance and have a good one, fandsinvestment.

Display name not just company under sales?

Thank you for getting back to us and for the added screenshot, @fadsinvestment.

Our QuickBooks Moderating team opted to mark the screenshot shared as Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and removed them for your security. Nevertheless, I'm here to help you get your concerns sorted out.

In the Guest Details, the Guest Display name is what is shown. If you want the full name to be displayed, I suggest editing the display name field with the full name. Please refer to the image below on how guest info populates on the guest details page.

Regarding the check, QBO has a dedicated field for the name to be printed on checks. However, it also displays other information you've set up in the guest info section. Here's how the information populates in the check:

After this, let me add this article about fine-tuning your print settings to help you in the printing process: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

We're always here in the Community should you have further updates on how your guest information is displayed. We'll do our best to assist. Take care.

Display name not just company under sales?

In our company, the display name field is identified by their apt and then their last name (IE 3016 Doe). We put their First and Last name on what we want printed on their check. We don't have companies, we have people.

For example - writing a check to our lawyer (John Doe) we enter his first and last name and his company name which happens to be his name. It will print out :

John Doe

John Doe (because it's the name of his company)

1234 Legal Ln.

St. Louis, MO

So when we pull-up a residents account, we don't see the full name unless we put it under the company name which then, prints the name double on the check.

We would like the option to print the company name or the person's name - not always both.

Display name not just company under sales?

Hello, fandsinvestment. I understand that you would like the flexibility to print either the company name or the person's name rather than both. However, in the current setup, both the company name and the print-on check name are displayed, even if only the company name field is filled in.

I can see how this option would be valuable to you, especially since some of your customers have the same name as their company. I recommend submitting your feedback to our product developers. This will help us improve our services and enhance your experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO). To submit your request, please follow these steps:

  1. Select Settings, then click Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Hit Next to submit feedback.

Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.

Moreover, consider checking out this article for future reference if you want to learn how to learn how to add, edit, delete, or merge customers in QuickBooks Online (QBO): Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online

If there is anything else you would like me to assist you with regarding managing customers in QBO, please feel free to let us know. We will make sure to respond promptly. Take care, and have a great day!
