Is there anyway to setup custom agencies in the new tax center? I pay 15% hotel tax in Texas to 3 different Agencies: City, County, and state. What am I missing?

Did not have any issues setting up the old tax center but this new one has me stumped

You can set up a custom agency in the new tax center in the Sales tax, @roghotz. I'll explain this further to you.

Tax agencies are the cities and county jurisdictions to which you make payments. QuickBooks Online (QBO) provides the amount calculated that you owe to each agency and the due date. However, you can also add a custom agency and rate to personalize the amount you owe for any agency. Here's how to do it:

  1. In the left panel, click Taxes and go to Sales Tax, then Sales Tax Settings.
  2. Select the Add agency and set it up. Decide the appropriate address, date, and reporting method.
  3. If done, hit Save.

After adding the agency, follow these steps to customize its tax rate to 15%:

  1. From the Custom rates, click Add rate.
  2. Choose if the rate is a Single or Combined.
  3. Fill up the necessary fields like Name, Agency, and Rate.
  4. Once finished, tap Save.

But when I go to the agency menu my county and city are not listed?  Texas is on the list but it is not highlighted?  I should mention that Texas state comptroller is setup in my tax agencies already but that’s all.

When I go to add agency and open the list my City or County are not listed? Doesn’t seem like any Texas towns or counties are listed?   Texas is listed but it is not highlighted. I do have the Texas State Comptroller set up already in my tax agencies.

Setting up your QuickBooks correctly for your specific city or county tax obligations is beneficial to your business, roghotz.

Adding a city or county tax agency is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I suggest sending a feature request directly to our Product Development team. This helps us improve your experience and the features of the program.
