I received a refund check for Witholding tax from the state. How do I record this in Quickbooks online?

Hi larrysrsp,

 

You can record the refund as a deposit. I'm here to guide you through the steps. Before doing so, I recommend reaching out to your accountant so they can guide you accordingly in selecting the correct accounts.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. From the + New icon, select Bank deposit.
  2. Go to the Add funds to this deposit section.
  3. Select your state on the RECEIVED FROM field.
  4. Select the account.
  5. Enter the AMOUNT.
  6. Click Save and close.

I thought so but I am not sure what account to use. I have accounts that are Wisconsin Department of Revenue Payable, Wisconsin Income tax or W SUI Employer.
