Sales tax center page GLITCH

I see all the sales tax center issues and am sad to say that my client's page stopped working today.  After an hour with "support" and all the same replies that I am seeing from other posts, there was no resolution.

I pay sales tax for this client monthly and also quarterly occupancy tax.  I have 3 days to get this worked out.  Intuit/QBO has become a program full of glitches and unhelpful "support" staff. I have already moved most of my clients off of Intuit Payroll, but now I think a completely different accounting program will be next.

Is there a fix for this sales tax or no?

We value your time, and we are dedicated to resolving this issue as quickly as possible. Our top priority is to restore the full Sales Tax page functionality so you can access all the necessary features and tools to ensure the success of your business needs, areuorganized

We appreciate you providing a screenshot and contacting our support agent to resolve this one. I've checked here on our end and there's no reported case about this one. To better isolate this Sales Tax page issue, we can perform some troubleshooting steps on your web browser to see if that's causing the issue. We can start by opening a private window or an incognito window in the browser. This will open your account with a clean slate and load fresh data. Here's how:

  • Mozilla Firefox / Internet Explorer: Press CTRL Shift P
  • Safari: Press Command Shift N
  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL Shift N

Once in the private or incognito window, sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and go to the Sales Tax Center page. If it works, go back to your original browser and clear the cache. Alternatively, you can use other compatible browsers.

If the problem persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our Technical Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this odd behavior in the Sales Tax Center. Here's how:

  1. At the top right, click the Help icon.
  2. Choose the Assistant section.
  3. Type your concern in the Type Something field.
  4. Click Talk to a human.
  5. Hit I still need a human.
  6. Press the Get help from a human.
  7. You'll be routed into the How can we helppage. Then, choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat or Get a callback.

I've added some resources that might come in handy for tracking and managing sales tax in QuickBooks:

Unfortunately, this corporate reply is completely unhelpful and offensive, since it is the same reply that has been used for almost a year in all the posts I have seen. Also, it is offensive because WE Users are SMART, but Intuit treats us as bunch of idiots!

So rather than spend hours on the phone with Intuit support, I spent less than an hour this morning working around the QBO system to find an appropriate way to get the Information I needed without the large hassle of contacting unhelpful Intuit workers.

I now have a reasonable solution with the tools already provided within QBO.

I always find it SHOCKING that Intuit goes to these measures of turning off features for some future reason (most likely to charge for it) without an appropriate and solid solution to their customers.  The lack of transparency is noticeable.

At some point, QBO will be replaced by a company that upends their lack of transparency and terrible service. I have already had most of my clients stop using Intuit Payroll and several ask me if I had any suggestions for replacing QBO.  The tide is turning, ever so slowly.  From the top of the pack to the bottom is what happens when you keep raising rates, but provide garbage service, have a platform that is glitchy and treat your customers like idiots.
