Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Charls. I can show you how to adjust your paid sales tax in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
QBDT calculates your sales tax depending on how you've set them up. To ensure you'll have a correct calculation, you can consider checking your tax item and rate if they're set up correctly.
If correctly set up, you can create a sales tax adjustment to match the amount you've submitted to your government.
Here's how:
- Go to the Vendors menu and click Sales Tax. Then, Adjust sales tax Due.
- In the Sales Tax Adjustment window, enter the adjustment date.
- Enter the sales tax vendor.
- Choose the adjustment account and other relevant information.
- In the Adjustment sections, you can choose if you need to increase or reduce sales tax, then enter the adjustment amount.
- You can also enter any additional note in the Memo field.
- Select OK.
