Where is the shipped from option in QBO now that you've updated. I've never had so much trouble tabulating my sales tax. We have two locations that we ship from. I need to be able to separate the two locations in VA plus the other states we ship parts to. Since the update, QBO is putting the headquarters sales tax rates in the other VA location. While they are the same rate, and I can use my XLS to calculate it correctly - it really defeats the purpose of QBO. And why do all my tax values now show in the XLS report as negative values?? Another problem... If sale parts to a customer in KY, and they return a part, I issue a credit memo to the same KY customer. That should tally everything in KY - but the "NEW AND IMPROVED" QBO is putting my credit memo in VA. All my credit memos end up from our headquarters, but they need to be associated with the state that returned the parts.
Let me share some information about how your sales taxes are calculated based on location to ensure your data is tracked accurately, @tanyam.
Keep in mind that the updated invoice template only includes the ship to option and not the ship from option. To enable the Ship Via/Ship To field, you need to turn on the Shipping option in the invoice template.

I understand that it is crucial for your company to continue using the feature about the sales tax calculation and the ship from the option in the invoice, knowing that the QuickBooks invoice feature has its own limitations. I checked every version of any invoice, estimate, sales receipt, etc. that we have and the shipping was checked in all of them. I've saved all the templates again, but it still doesn't work. The only way to change the actual shipped from address when QBO doesn't calculate it correctly, is to go into the "See the Math" section of QBO and manually change them on each invoice (which slows down the invoicing process considerably). We ship from two different locations in VA daily. I've spent more time on sales tax in the last three months, than I have in the 7 years prior (all with QBO). I've already contacted the "design" team and "customer support." Customer support has no idea how to fix it (been two months now) and I never hear from the design team.
Thanks for your response though.
