sales tax

Hello,

I use QuickBooks desktop pro plus. I have set up "Customers" with the address to their main office, and under that I have jobs set up "Site location"(where the work is performed). The sales tax at each site location are different. But every time I create an invoice it is defaulted for the most tax used, and if I change the sales tax to the correct tax, it defaults ALL the work sites to that sales tax. Is there a way to make this permanent per job?

*When I click on the job under customers the Sales tax settings is not there, it shows up on the Customers information only.

sales tax

Hi there, @HVAC_Man.

Allow me to provide information about the option to make the tax code or job permanent when creating an invoice in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

In QBDT, when you create an invoice, the tax you used previously will be automatically selected since it'll remember the last tax code you used. You'll have to manually choose or select the correct tax code every time you create an invoice.

While this option may be unavailable. I recommend sending feedback about it. This will give us an idea of how we may improve the functionality of QBDT to meet users' needs and enhance the working experience.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Help option.
  2. Select the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Select the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays.
  4. Enter your comments or feedback suggestions.
  5. Click the Send Feedback button.

I'll also include an article to guide you in receiving and processing customer payments for invoices and in-person sales: Take and process in QBDT.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns about the sales tax. I'll be around to provide further assistance to you.
