Sorting Accounts in 1099 mapping

When doing 1099 mapping, the accounts are in weird orders. They are not in alphabetical, numerical, or by type. Is there anyway to sort the list to make mapping easier? I have following some instructions on re-ordering accounts, but it did not change the order of the accounts in 1099 mapping.

Let's perform some steps to isolate why the accounts are not in order, twalton2.

Performing the verify and rebuild steps helps us fix this odd behavior. Here's how:

  1. From the Window tab, select Close All.
  2. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities.
  3. Click Verify Data.

If the system prompts you that Your data has lost integrity, you'll have to rebuild the program. If you are prompted with a specific error message, you may search for it on our Help Articles page for the steps to fix the error.

Furthermore, I've added this article as your guide in preparing 1099: File 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm always around whenever you have concerns about 1099.
