Submit Payroll Liabilities/Taxes needs update

We have submitted EPAY taxes successfully in the past. Now, when we submit, we get the message that  "We haven't check for updates recently" We go back, get the updates, for the third time. We have restarted everything, etc. How can we proceed?

Hello there. I have the troubleshooting processes for resolving the error and assisting you in submitting your payroll efficiently.

 

You may have a paycheck that was stuck, leading to the inability to send payroll and encountering an error. I suggest running QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) as admin, then proceeding on getting the payroll and QuickBooks updates. 

 

First, check the date and time of your computer, review if the title bar displays Accountant Changes Pending, or delete and recreate paychecks that are online to send. For detailed instructions, refer to this article: Fix error “QuickBooks has encountered a problem sending your usage data''.

 

Second, utilize the QuickBooks Tool Hub, which gives you tools to fix common QuickBooks Desktop issues. 

 

Third, run the repair tool in the system. The Quick Fix will shut down any open background processes QuickBooks uses. It will execute a quick repair on your program. Here's how:

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, choose Program Problems.
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Lastly, set up firewall and security settings for QuickBooks Desktop. You may see an error message if your Windows firewall stops internet access for specific QuickBooks programs or files.
