Updating your payroll tax table is essential for accurate tax calculations and avoiding future issues. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, @hookemcookem. Let's address any concerns together, and I'll guide you through every step to ensure everything is in order.
Since your employees haven't reached the wage limit and you're experiencing unexpected issues with unemployment insurance tax calculations, it's advisable to update your payroll tax table to the latest version. Here's how to proceed with the update:
- In Employees, click Get Payroll Updates.
- Know your tax table version by checking the number next to You are using tax table version:
- Identify if it’s the correct version, see the latest payroll news and updates.
- After that, get the latest tax table by selecting Download Entire Update.
- Choose Update. An informational window appears when the download is complete.
Let's also make sure that your employee is not marked exempt from SUI. Let me guide you:
- Go to Employees, then Employee Center.
- Double-click the employee’s name.
- Select Payroll Info, then Taxes.
- Review the SUI checkbox and correct if needed.
