Utilities for a home office

I own a business.  It is a C Corp.  Last year my accountant told us we could have the business pay a percentage of our utilities since our office is from our home.  Now, as I am looking, I am not sure I should write myself a check to pay myself for a percentage of the utilities, or is it just something that is claimed on my taxes?

Utilities for a home office

Hi there, missmissySEI.

Thanks for posting your question here in the Community.

In this situation, I recommend reaching back out to your accountant to discuss the specifics. They'll be able to tell you whether or not to pay yourself for the percentage of the utilities or claim it on your taxes based on your unique business setup and workflows.

Additionally, the Community is a great space to hear from other QuickBooks users who have been in similar situations. If you need any additional assistance with the entry please don't hesitate to reach back out.
