Why do Sales not appear in Sales?

Hi there, Erik. There are possible reasons why you're not seeing your sales income in the report. It could be due to the date period or accounting bases you've selected when running the report.

When generating reports, you can choose between Cash or Accrual methods. In cash-based accounting, revenue and expenses would be recognized when actual cash payments are received, not when it's invoiced or incurred. On the other hand, accrual accounting records income and expenses when they're incurred before any cash transactions are received.

If you've chosen the Cash accounting method, only the paid transactions will show in the report. But with the Accrual basis, both paid and unpaid transactions will appear.

Ensure you've selected the correct date period and its accounting basis. Please see the attached sample for visual reference.

If the issue persists after doing so, let's take some troubleshooting steps to ensure the sales will show in the report. An accumulation of historical data can cause unexpected behaviors.

To begin, open your account and run the report through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can accomplish this by utilizing the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Return to your regular browser and clear your cache if the sales already appear on the report. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted cache and cookies can lead to unexpected behaviors. You can also switch to other installed supported browsers, which is a good alternative.
