Update primary contact information

Learn how to update your contact information in Online Payroll.

Quickly change the contact information on your Intuit Online Payroll or QuickBooks Online Payroll account.

Update primary contact information

Intuit Online Payroll/Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants

  1. Go to Setup, then choose Contact Information.
  2. Select Edit (name of the current primary contact).
  3. Change then name, then select OK.
  4. In Edit Contact Information page, select OK.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Select Contact Information.
  3. Change then name, then select OK.

Only a primary admin can change this information, regardless if you're added as an authorized user to the account.

Add a new primary contact

Intuit Online Payroll/Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants

  1. Go to Setup, then choose Contact Information.
  2. From the Primary Contact drop-down arrow, select the new primary contact's name.
  3. Select OK.

Only users already setup for access on the account will appear on the drop-down list. To add an authorized user, see article Adding or removing authorized users from your account for assistance.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

QuickBooks Online Payroll doesn't have the option to select another contact to become the primary contact. To change the name on the account, it will have to be done manually.

Update phone number and notification email

Intuit Online Payroll/Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants

  1. Go to Setup, then choose Contact Information.
  2. Select Edit (name of the current primary contact).
  3. Enter information in the fields, then select OK.
  4. In Edit Contact Information page, select OK.

QuickBooks Online Payroll

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Select Contact Information.
  3. Enter information in the fields, then select OK.

Update filing address

Intuit Online Payroll/Intuit Online Payroll for Accountants

  1. Go to Setup, then choose General tax information.
  2. Uncheck Same as business address checkbox.
  3. Enter information in the fields, then select OK.

For QuickBooks Online Payroll

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Uncheck Same as business address checkbox.
  3. Enter information in the fields, then select OK.
