Some bank statements are missing when reconciling the account. how can I import them so I dont have to manually enter each transaction into the bank register?

Hi there, pitbullcwp.

Let's check first why some transactions are missing when you reconcile your account, and we will provide you with steps to recover these transactions before we proceed with importing them.

One of the reasons transactions may be missing is that they don’t match the filter date or fall beyond the reconciliation date range in your reconciliation page. Additionally, some transactions in the Banking page might be under the Excluded tab, which indicates they were deleted.

To fix this, we can remove the filter date in the reconciliation page to show all the transactions and undo the excluded transactions to appear in the reconciliation page.

Here's how to remove the filter date:

  1. Navigate back to the Reconciliation page.
  2. Adjust or remove the filter by selecting Clear filter/View all to see all transactions.

Here's how to recover excluded transactions:

  1. Go to the Banking page.
  2. Click the Excluded tab to view transactions marked as excluded.
  3. Select the transaction(s) you want to recover.
  4. Select the Undo option to reverse these transactions.
  5. Once recovered, these transactions will return to the For Review tab. From there, Match or Categorize them appropriately to ensure they show up in the reconciliation page.

If you are still unable to find the missing transactions, you can manually import them into QuickBooks Online. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to All apps and select Accounting.
  2. Click on Bank Transactions.
  3. Select the bank account you wish to upload transactions to.
  4. Choose the Link account dropdown, then select Upload from file.
  5. Browse and upload the saved bank statement or transaction file.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the columns (e.g., date, amount, description).
  7. Once mapping is complete, QuickBooks will display the transactions for review. Confirm the upload by clicking Next or Finish.

Moving forward, let's make sure to review transactions every week to ensure there are no missing entries, allowing for accurate and efficient reconciliation every month.
