change to cash basis

I want to change from accrual to cash basis but the system won't let me choose cash. Accrual is the only choice available?

change to cash basis

Thank you for reaching out to us and letting us know about the issue you're experiencing. But we dive into a solution, can you share with us how you tried to switch from accrual to cash basis? Did you encounter any specific errors or prompts during the process, Melissa?

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you have the option to adjust the accounting method for your company. Here are the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. Go to Advanced.
  3. In the Accounting section, select the pencil icon.
  4. Choose an Accrual.

  5. Click Done.

On top of that, you can customize individual reports to switch a different accounting method and compare results to gain deeper insights into your financial data. For your guidance, I've included this article for you: Choose between cash and accrual accounting methods in QuickBooks Online.
