About Hillary
I began my career in 2001 as a part time web developer in a small IT firm. The company focused mainly on computer networking. Web development was pretty much just an afterthought. By the time I left in 2016 more than half the firm’s income came from the Internet Department that I established. I managed 5 programmers in 2 locations. During those 15 years I wore many hats – managing over 300 client websites, I created proposals (scaling back from the monstrous 9 page document to a concise, readable 1-2 page contract), gave presentations to prospective clients, at trade shows and conferences. I researched security issues and established PCI compliant guidelines before the banks enforced them. Expanding my knowledge base has always been important, so I earned a degree ins computer science technology and certificates in web development and ADA compliance. Hands on experience is always the best teacher (I began developing websites using a plain text editor), so I dove into PhotoShop, FrontPage (ugh!), Dreamweaver, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Illustrator, FileZilla, Paint Shop Pro, Flash, and on and on. You get the picture. After many hours of online training I became a Google Certified Expert, and was responsible for online advertising and social media for my company and my clients. This included AdWords, Analytic reports, AdSense, Amazon Seller Central, Facebook ads and so on. I also spent a lot of time developing and maintaining e-commerce websites – everything from single product pages with a PayPal buy now button, to extensive websites selling thousands of products. I learned how to implement bulk discounts, create and upload product feeds, generate reports, customized invoices and packing slips. So if you or someone you know is a business owner who struggles to keep their business in touch with technology, I would love to help customers find, and engage with their organization.
